Bon Voyage treats a destination as a connected world: history, neighborhoods, food, nearby escapes and the port or route that brought you here all belong to the same journey.

A HARBOR CITY READ THROUGH ITS QUARTERS

Chania's old harbor is a map of Venetian, Ottoman, Jewish and modern Cretan lives.

The official Chania Tourism Bureau presents the city as a meeting place of ancient, old and contemporary Chania between the Cretan Sea and the White Mountains. Around the Old Venetian Harbor, the Egyptian Lighthouse and surviving Neoria frame a route into Kastelli, Topanas and the Jewish quarter, Splantzia and Koum Kapi, while Chalepa and Tabakaria extend the story east of the walls. That urban route is a complete day in itself. Ancient Aptera, the Akrotiri monasteries, mountain villages, beaches and gorges belong to separate plans whose current access, weather, terrain, mobility and return margin have been checked.
