START WITH THE PLACE

See more than the headline sights.

Bon Voyage treats a destination as a connected world: history, neighborhoods, food, nearby escapes and the port or route that brought you here all belong to the same journey.

A COASTAL GATEWAY TO A MULTI-LAYERED WORLD HERITAGE LANDSCAPE

Pergamon is more than an Acropolis stop, and Dikili is more than its road inland.

UNESCO describes Pergamon above the Bakırçay Plain as the former Attalid capital and a major ancient center of learning, with temples, theatre, stoa, gymnasium, library and city walls shaped into Kale Hill. The wider World Heritage landscape also includes the Asklepieion healing center, tumuli and Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman layers around modern Bergama. That deserves a separately timed heritage route; Dikili's waterfront, Bademli, Çandarlı and the northern Aegean coast form different days. Verify current site access, heat, terrain, accessibility, road transport and return margin before committing.
