Zadar & Northern Dalmatia

Zadar brings Roman archaeology, medieval churches and Venetian fortifications together on a walkable peninsula, then adds a modern waterfront whose Sea Organ turns Adriatic waves into an ever-changing soundscape.

WHEN THE WATERFRONT BECOMES AN INSTRUMENT

At Zadar's Sea Organ, the Adriatic composes the music.

The Sea Organ is both an architectural artwork and an experimental musical instrument. Waves push air through tubes beneath broad marble steps, producing tones that change with the movement of the water. It gives Zadar a rare public space where contemporary design, the waterfront and the natural rhythm of the Adriatic become one experience.
