See more than the headline sights.

Bon Voyage treats a destination as a connected world: history, neighborhoods, food, nearby escapes and the port or route that brought you here all belong to the same journey.

A CITY ROUTE AT THE EDGE OF A VOLCANIC ISLAND

Ponta Delgada is the urban chapter; São Miguel's calderas and thermal valleys require their own plans.

The official Azores guide presents São Miguel as the archipelago's largest island and links its green volcanic landscape with Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo, Furnas and the north coast. Ponta Delgada offers a different, city-scale day: the eighteenth-century Portas da Cidade were moved from the old quay to the central square, where the three arches meet São Sebastião, patterned paving and the waterfront; Forte de São Brás and nearby civic streets extend the route. Treat Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo, Furnas, Ribeira Grande and Caldeira Velha, Vila Franca do Campo, Nordeste and any whale-watching or multi-island journey separately. Current road, trail, thermal-site, pool, boat and attraction access, weather, visibility, transport, terrain, accessibility and return margin all need confirmation; wildlife is never guaranteed.
