Leixões Cruise Port & Matosinhos Arrival Guide

Leixões is northern Portugal's ocean-cruise gateway in Matosinhos, where the South Mole terminal, any other assigned quay and the passenger route must be confirmed from the sailing.

ARRIVE WITH CONTEXT

The port is only the beginning.

Bon Voyage connects the arrival point to the city, region and experiences it actually unlocks. That means understanding the port first—then deciding how far the day should reach.

ARRIVAL STORY · AN ACTIVE CRUISE TERMINAL INSIDE A LARGER WORKING PORT

Leixões is the ocean gateway; Matosinhos and Porto are distinct first-route decisions.

APDL's current 2026 cruise communications document both transit calls and turnaround operations at Leixões. The official terminal guide places the Porto Cruise Terminal on the South Mole in Matosinhos and separately identifies its passenger station, cruise quay, fluvio-maritime quay and marina within a much larger port. Confirm the live call, assigned berth or quay, gangway, baggage or check-in when relevant, controlled passenger exit, accessibility, transport, meeting point and final return. Matosinhos can support a local seafront plan; Porto's historic center and Ribeira, Vila Nova de Gaia, Foz, the Douro Valley, Braga and Guimarães each change the route and timing.
